Rise's Annual Thanksgiving Distribution 

Date: Saturday, November 22, 6am-1 pm
Volunteer Age Requirement: 16+ 

Description of Tasks:

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help distribute over 1,000 Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. This event will take place outdoors and requires volunteers to assist with the following tasks:

• Sorting and Organizing: Help sort and organize various Thanksgiving items, including canned goods, fresh produce, and other essentials.
• Distribution: Assist in distributing baskets to families. This task involves lifting up to 25 lbs of groceries.
• Setup and Cleanup: Volunteers will help set up distribution stations and ensure the area is clean and safe throughout the event.
• Station Support: Volunteers may be assigned to different stations, which could involve switching tasks as needed to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Important Notes:

• Safety: Due to the physical nature of this activity, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate younger volunteers or small children for safety reasons.
• Weather: Please dress appropriately for the weather, as this event will be held outdoors.
• Flexibility: We appreciate your flexibility, as we cannot guarantee that groups will not be separated. Volunteers may start at one station and be moved to another based on the event's needs

Check-In Process: To expedite your check-in and track your volunteer hours, please download the "Causer" app before arriving.  Additionally, a QR code to check in will also be available at the volunteer table. If you do not check in we can not confirm attendance or participation, as all volunteers must sign up.

Shift Schedule

(Tasks will vary, and volunteers may need to move to other stations as needed)

Friday, November 22

• Setup: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Tasks: Arrange tables, unload supplies, and organize distribution areas
  • Check-in Time: 5:00 PM

Saturday, November 23

• Morning Setup: 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM

  • Tasks: Last-minute setup, organize parking, prepare distribution stations
  • Check-in Time: 5:45 AM

• Parking Assistance: 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM

  • Tasks: Direct traffic, assist with parking logistics for guests
  • Check-in Time: 8:30 AM

• Distribution Assistance: 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM

  • Tasks: Support distribution stations, assist families and guests
  • Check-in Time: 8:30 AM

• Tear Down and Cleanup: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Tasks: Break down tables, organize remaining items, clean up event space
  • Check-in Time: 10:45 AM

Important Volunteer Guidelines

1. Check-In and Check-Out:
   • Please check in upon arrival and check out when leaving. This is required to track volunteer hours accurately.
2. Logging Volunteer Hours:
   • Use the Galaxy Digital app or the kiosk available on-site to log your hours.
   • If unable to log in via the app, email your hours to volunteer@njrise.org to ensure they are recorded. Hours that are not logged cannot be awarded.
3. Cancellations:
   • If you need to cancel or cannot make it to your shift, please notify us as soon as possible at 609-443-4464 or director@njrise.org
